= US ACTION VS UGA II ----------------------------------------------------- =
=============================================================================
After our article about our problems with US Action B.V. and Action media
B.V. i.o both run by a certain Mr Share we received several reactions
from other com panies:
Cachet Software (X-copy) confirmed to us the fact that a pirate copy of
Xcopy was being spread on Action Media's diskmagazine Diskovery. On the
same disk ther were two pirate copies of two other copyrighted programs.
It seems that this is a case of commercial software piracy. Also UGA
has forbidden Action Media to use Powerpacker routines on their magazine
but they just continue with using copyrighted material. We will have
a case in Dutch court very soon to prevent further use of our routines.
From APS software we received the confirmation that on the same magazine
there was an illegal copy of their copyprogram Blitzcopy. They didn't
give any permission to distribute this program on this commercial magazine.
From Psygnosis we received the message that US Action B.V. is no longer
distributor of their products in Holland because of problems in payments.
They are busy with a new distributor so their products will soon be
available again in Dutch shops.
From the Dutch company named Telekoder who has several shops in Holland
we received a note that they have also taken legal steps against US Action
because of 'business' problems with this company.
We already mentioned the fact that several companies were named in adver-
tisements in magazines as US Action dealers without giving any permission
to this company to publish this. The following companies confirmed to us
they were also mentioned as US ACTION dealer without being one: Byte
computers, Palet Computers and Ronde Hitech.
An US Action customer complained to us that he had ordered two dutch
AMIGA programs which had to be prepaid. Even after 2 months he is still
waiting for the programs. He did want to have his money back but he
was told to wait till these programs where in stock. We advised him to
do his request to get his money back by registrated mail. If there would
be no reply he could go to one of the local law-shops for special advice.
Mr P.Share is also very active with socalled number 1 AMIGA clubs, first
there was the 68000 club which suddenly disappeared and now there is:
the AMIGA Direct Club. The address in the UK is the same as US Action's
address in the UK.
As you see the story seems to continue, we let you know if more information
comes in.
I like to thank all people who supplied the information and paperwork to
justify this second article about these two companies.
